Obtaining That Spa-Like Feel at Home With Luxury

Posted on February 19, 2021February 19, 2021 by deborah Shane

When you’ve had a bad day or a rough week, there’s nothing better to reset your body and mind than a spa day. Finding the time to get to a spa, however, isn’t always easy. The cost of regular trips can be prohibitive, too.

Why not, then, transform your own bathroom into a personal retreat? With these tips and a little effort, even a small bathroom can have a spa-like feel and become your private retreat from the world.

Clear Away Clutter and Get Rid of Visual Noise

Take a glance around any spa and the first thing that you notice is that there’s a distinct lack of clutter. No dusty, half-used bottles of shampoo line the ledge of the tub. No random hair-styling tools lay on the counter by the sink.

If anything, rooms in a spa may seem a little muted and barren — and that’s by design. Simple, earthy color schemes and sparse decor help reduce distractions and lower anxiety levels. Everything has a place, and even useful odds and ends are tucked out of sight until they are needed.

Create a spa-like atmosphere in your bathroom by clearing out anything that doesn’t absolutely need to be there. Stow your essential bath products inside cabinets or linen-lined baskets on orderly shelves. If the walls are bright or bold, consider repainting so that you’re surrounded by tranquil colors like pale green or light blue so that you can relax in refined elegance.

Use Lighting, Music, and Scents to Set the Mood

A good chunk of the spa experience comes from the deliberate ambiance created within each retreat. You can replicate the spa atmosphere using three simple things: Light, sound, and smell.

Adding dimmer switches to your bathroom lights is a start, but don’t overlook the power of old-fashioned candlelight to create a peaceful mood. Candles and bath products with scents like lavender, vanilla, and chamomile are particularly soothing.

Don’t overlook the value of music, either, as you set the mood for your home spa. Ambient music with delicate instrumentals by flutes or harps can be ideal when you’re trying to de-stress.

Add Fluffy White Towels and Luxurious Accessories

You can’t skimp on the accessories if you want a truly spa-like feel in your bathroom. Nothing says “spa” like fluffy white cotton towels and other small touches of luxury. With our cotton towels, simplicity and comfort are part of the design.

The natural fibers we use in our white cotton towels are selected for their softness and tested for absorbency so that you’re instantly enveloped with a sense of well-being the moment you step out of the bath. Luxury towels are, after all, part of the opulence and sophistication of the spa experience.

You may also want to place a thick-piled rug at your feet and keep an equally plush cotton robe at hand so that you continue to envelop your senses in the tranquil feel of your home spa for as long as possible.

Your home is your sanctuary from the world, so don’t hesitate to embrace the things that make you happiest — especially when re-creating the spa-experience is so easy.
